Pie Maker Recipes – Easy

My pie maker is now on the list to take on our next adventure. It never ceases to amaze me. Yes it does great pies, but have you thought out side the ‘circle’. I have become very creative and found that it can do so many other things like, hamburger patties/rissoles, bacon and eggs, quiches, deserts, scones and so much more. It’s also wonderful for using up leftovers to make pies or rissoles.

I love finding great recipes but I am not that good at following them because I love to improvise and make it to our taste bud liking. So forgive me if the recipes are not perfect with measurements. It’s generally the eye that tells me if it is going to be half way reasonable. 🙂

Left over curry chicken pie.

Ingredients:

Left over chicken, beef or whatever you have. Sometimes we left over meats you can ad peas or carrots or anything you desire really. I sometimes make thicken the sauce with a little gravy or whatever I have on hand.

Puff pastry.

Method:

Preheat the Pie Magic. Cut out the base and top from the pastry sheets with the pie maker cutter.
Place the pastry base in the pie maker and fill with pie filling, but not right to the top. Place the top on the pies, close the lid and cook for around 6 – 8 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.

Then sit back and enjoy. Yummo.

Quiche or Frittata

Ingredients:

3 Eggs
1 cup self raising flour
1 cup cooked bacon pieces ( I usually quickly cook them in the microwave but not till they are crispy)
Feta cheese – I crumbled enough into the mixture to suit.
Milk – probably about a cup so that the mixture is a little wet. Or substitute with some grated zucchini, carrot and onion. Sorry just need to wing it. That’s what I always do.
I have coriander and spinach leaves growing in our garden so I chopped up enough for the mixture.
Ground Black Pepper
Chili flakes
Smoked paprika
Method:
I then wiped the pie maker with some Olive oil one paper towel and then scooped enough into each to make the 3 I did. The pie maker was cold. Then I just put it on and left it to cook and when I thought it was done took them out. Probably about 10 minutes. I hope that helps. Cheers
Easy hamburger patties
Ingredients:
250g lean beef mince
Grated onion and carrot
Fetta cheese
Sesame seeds
Loads of herbs and spices to taste to your liking
BBQ sauce
Method:
Mix it altogether and make patties and place in the pie maker. It did not take more than 10 minutes. I do open in the meantime and check how it is going and flip them over.

Vegemite and Cheese Delights
These delights were an improvised version of a Vegemite and Cheese bread that I generally make in the convection oven.
Very moist and delicious served warm with a morning coffee. Mind you they are good cold too.
Ingredients:
1.5 cups of almond meal
1 TBSP psyllium husk
1 TBSP LSA ground (Linseed, Sunflower and Almonds)
1 TBSP Baking powder
4 TBSP Butter
4 TBSP Vegemite
1/3 Cup sour light cream
2 Eggs
3/4 Cups grated cheese
Method:
Melt the butter and vegemite in the microwave. In a bowl mix the eggs, sour cream and grated cheese. I don’t wait for the butter to cool I just put it in the bowl and then ad all the dry ingredients and mix it altogether.
I spooned a good heap tablespoon in each compartment and I did warm up the PM before hand. Also I wiped each compartment with a little olive oil. Then cooked until I thought it looked like it was done. They feel very moist, but that’s how they are supposed to be. Light and fluffy and yummy.

So easy and delicious and moist.

The pie maker is also great for making breakfast eggs on toast with mushrooms. I have also used it for warming up different foods for lunch.

Pulled pork, cheese and onion toasted rolls.

Home made quiche cut into squares and warmed up in the pie maker.

Eggs on bread with stuffed mushrooms and tomatoes

Pancake mix with blueberries, shredded coconut and mint. Great for a desert to served with a dollop of Greek yogurt.

Can’t wait to try some more delicious delights. Just use your creative flow and see what you can come up with. I love that it is so incredibly versatile.
