We generally steer clear from cities…..BUT 🤔 on this occasion we had a specific reason to head into Adelaide. Anyway thanks to everyone on the heads up on where to stay. After much consideration and another flip of the coin we ended up at the Big4 West Beach Park. The park is huge and geared for all sorts of travelers and group events.
Our introduction into Adelaide had Graeme trying to convince himself the sudden increase in traffic was OK and that WE could handle the confusing messages from our Jeep’s navigation system. For example Siri told us to take the 3rd exit from the roundabout but the roundabout had been replaced with an overpass and we had obviously missed the new exit. Anyhow we made it safely to our destination and settled ourselves in for our stay.
👉The caravan park is conveniently located and within easy reach of many parts of Adelaide City.
👉There is a 🚌 stop right out the front of the park that takes you into the city or several other great locations including Glenelg ,one of many beachside attractions. Adelaide’s 🚌and 🚎 service is so convenient and seniors are invited to travel FREE between 9am – 3pm.
👉If you’re up for some retail 🛍 therapy you can take the bus from the stop that is just out the front of our park to Harbour Town a couple of kms away. It’s a sprawling complex featuring stores offering sale-priced merchandise from popular labels.
👉Another day we hopped on a Tram in the city and took it all the way to Glenelg. Here we stopped in at the Glenelg Visitor Information Centre and enjoyed the FREE history museum upstairs. It was here the lovely lady told us about senior’s tickets for the buses and trams and interstate seniors can obtain a ticket which is valid for up to two weeks.
👉We do love taking a good walk 🚶♀️🚶♂️when we can and it was great to be able to enjoy the walk/bicycle path that is adjacent to the park behind the beach’s dunes. Despite the cold 🌬 ‘gale force’ wind that was blowing straight of the ocean we enjoyed our walk to Henley Beach where you can stop off and have a coffee ☕️ before walking back.
