Spring Creek – QLD

We travelled approximately 165km from Yarraman to Spring Creek for our next overnighter. You might think it’s not a long drive, but that suits us very nicely as we do stop quite a lot along the way to check out towns etc. 😉👉👉

👉We headed towards our first stop Crows Nest and encountered a pretty windy road and the temperature dropped quite significantly.  Crows Nest is a small rural town serving the surrounding district which produces beef and dairy cattle🐄. The town was named by early settlers as a celebration to Jimmy Crow an Aboriginal who advised bullock teamsters on directions and information of the local area. The Crows Nest Folk Museum and Village is a great place to check out if you are interested in learning more about the local history. It has its very own historic village where the buildings have been lovingly restored for all to appreciate.

👉Not far out of Crows Nest you will find Chapman Park in Hampton. It’s a popular 24 hr rest area with toilets available and also a Visitors Information Centre.

👉For our overnight stop we headed off to Spring Creek Caravan Park situated conveniently on the New England Highway between Toowoomba and Warwick. This is a lovely older style park and is awaiting council approval to proceed with some planned improvements.

We received a happy warm 😄 welcome and were guided onto our site. You can have a choice of grassed or slab site.
